Wedding and event photographer in Barnsley, Sheffield, Rotherham, Wakefield, Doncaster, Huddersfield.
I took delivery of a new sample album yesterday, this one is a popular 12” X 8” landscape format with a plain jacket. I think it looks great and will be perfect to show off some amazing wedding photography. I’ll be showcasing it for the first time at the upcoming White Media Wedding Fayre at Hellaby Hall in Rotherham.
As you can see from this first photo, the album in landscape format has a whole different look to it than the standard portrait format. It opens up some amazing possibilities when designing the layout of your finished wedding album.![]()
As with all my main albums, this one is also a ‘lay flat’ design. This makes it much easier for you to look at the images as the page opens fully and lays flat for everyone to see the photography at it’s best.
The cover and padding on this new album remains the same as my other albums. This means it is hard wearing, pleasant to handle, and I know you’ll be pleased with the finished product.

These are a few shots from a portrait sitting with Charlotte we did a few weeks back. I had to improvise a little studio as it was way too cold to play outside. Maybe next time eh! Would be great to get down to the park to get some great ‘playtime’ shots.

Last week I spent the day with some great photographers at Waterton Park Hotel in Wakefield. The idea was to see how they worked, and to see if there was anything I could learn from them to help me get more from the Weddings I work on.
The images below are just a few that were taken that day. Everyone works differently and sometimes the way we do things ourselves are not necessarily the best, easiest, or most efficient way. ![]()
Anyone who wants to be the best at what they do will tell you they never stop learning. I’m always trying to improve my wedding imagery and hopefully that shows in the work I produce.
I thoroughly enjoyed capturing this wedding for Lucy and Chris. The people, locations, and the atmosphere were amazing and I think this shows in the images we finished up with from the day.![]()
Bolsterstone is a very picturesque little village on the border of Sheffield and thankfully the Wedding day had weather to compliment the surroundings (if a little breezy, but we were 300m up). Lucy had done her homework too, scouting out a great location for some photographs after the service. These two images were taken in the beautiful garden of a house close to the church.
The ‘confetti shot’ below is one of my favourites from the day, beautiful sunshine, lots of smiles and very colourful.
The reception was held at Tankersley Manor in Sheffield, the room looked amazing and I can definitely say the speeches were original and very amusing.
Katrina and I went to the same school, Kimberworth comp. That seems a long time ago, even longer when I think of what’s happened since we went to school. Thankfully, through the powers of Facebook, Katrina found out I was a wedding photographer and promptly booked me to capture their special day. Here are a few images from the day, hopefully She’s happy with what we got.
The 4 tier Pork Pie wedding cake deserves a special mention. It looks amazing but unfortunately I wasn’t there to taste it. Needless to say I’ve added it to my ‘to-do’ list. Wonder if it comes with a mushy pea fountain?!

I was recently asked to do a photoshoot at a stables. A good friend has started a business called Yorkshires Party Ponies and asked me to do some shots for their new website. Here are some of the images we ended up with.
It’s clear that Anita, Jayne and the kids all love their horses and I had a great time trying to capture that. I wish them lots of luck in their venture and hope I get the chance to photograph them again soon. Maybe I’ll take wellies next time though.

Things are going to be a bit busy for me over the next few weeks. Pre-wedding meeting, weddings and my first ever wedding fare.
I’ve been swapping emails with a bride to be who I’m lucky enough to be photographing at St. Marys Church in Bolsterstone. I was due to start shooting around 11am, going all the way through until about 9pm. It turns out that the bride is having her hair and make-up done at 8am because that’s the only time she could get the hairdresser she wanted.
“I’m guessing that’s a bit too early for you?”
Err, no way!
“I’ll be there at 8”
I’m of the opinion that a wedding album should show the full story of the day, I wouldn’t be happy giving someone an album where the photos started at the point where the bride leaves the house. Equally I wouldn’t want to leave while the speeches were still going on.
Anyway, I have 2 boys under 5 who’ll both be awake at 6 so I may as well get something done.
These images are from the wedding of Anita and Mark Godfrey, it was their anniversary on Thursday so I thought it fitting to publish a few images from their special day at Waterton Park Hotel.
I was looking through some old images yesterday and came across this one which I’d not used before. I like the pose but thought it was missing something. I decided to play around with it and this is the result. I guess you can’t always see the potential of an image the first time you look at it.
